It is very reasonable for the Chinese to hate the Japanese, hence its supporter which is the US. Why, in the end, did the reporter change the idea of Japs and the US to the rest of the world. How does the US represent the rest of the world?

The Japanese terrorized all their neighbors since at least the 1500s, whether by invading Choseon or via piracy along the entire coast of China. Point is, the Japanese have done enough bad to the Chinese for centuries that Japan is a very believable "straw man" to unite the Chinese people in hatred against. The fact that the Japanese blatantly deny any of this violent psychopathic history is cause enough for alarm. Don't minimize the reasons for Japan hatred in China. It goes back centuries, not merely decades, and the Japanese are still unrepentant about it all.

Chinese American here. Chinese people always give us a bad name they are embarrassing and have no respect. I LOVE Japan way more than China and wouldn’t hesitate to live in Japan instead any day. Much cleaner and more respectful than the Chinese.

Hypocrisy is alive and well in China,. China for centuries has brutalized Vietnam and other countries, and they still cause damage today. It's fine when China does brutal things to Vietnam and Tibet for example, and mostly have been forgiven. But not the brutality almost 80 years ago, against them by Japan which has completely ended. Should all of the other countries hate China and discriminate against Chinese people? If they would, is this fair?
